Similar to The Karkota-Kayastha kings of the ancient J&K,Varman-Kayastha founded the Utpala dynasty.They can be linked with Palas of Bengal.The all Kayastha kings of ancient India were as great as they were usually called-Deva,Prabhu,Sura etc.They were praised for their wisdom and heart and also for supporting the contemporary anti-caste[superior/inferior]movement of Buddhism and Jainism.This made Brahmin-Preist against them.So they plotted against Kayasthas[Brahmin by blood but Kshatriya by occupation.].
