Article 370 of jammu and kashmir

The accession of jammu and kashmir to india  was brought into being on 26th oct,1949.With the accession of  the  state of jammu and kashmir to india jurisdiction in matters of external affairs, defence and communication was transferred to the government of india and the union parliament was given power to make law for the state for the purpose of these matters.the internal administration of jammu and kashmir was law even after its accession being governed by the jammu and kashmir constitution Act.1939.in june,1949 yuvray karan singh,on the advice of his council of ministers nominated four representatives to the indian constituent assembly,kashmir's representatives made it clear that kashmirs Associations with india would be based  only on the terms of the instrument of accession.the constitution of india came into force on 26th january 1950 was included in the indian constitution in order to satisfy the political saspirations of the people of jammu and kashmir.Article 370 give special status to jammu and kashmir.Sardar patel declared in the indian constitution Assembly"in view of the special problem with which the jammu and kashmir government is faced we have made special provisions for the continuancy of the state with union on the existing basis."
Article 370 has been declared as'temporary and transitional and special provision' in the constitution.special status has been provided to jammu amd kashmir under article 370.the state of jammu and kashmir has its own constitution separate flag and separate law of citizenship.
